I am overwhelmed by the beauty of nature and am passionate about preserving it for future generations
and hope that my photos may go some small way to make a difference by showing others the beauty that I see, when I photograph Birds and Mammals and the natural world.
Nature & landscape photographer
I am a Nature Photographer based in Fife in Scotland.
I was given my first camera as a Christmas present by my father when I was 7 years old, and even though I studied photography at college, it became just a hobby as I met my partner, had children and got a job, but the circumstances we were in did not allow it to be anything more.
It’s only since moving back to Scotland that Photography has become my work.
I am overwhelmed by the beauty of the Natural world and how it makes me feel personally, but also am very aware of how essential it is to all of our lives.
I love the stunning complexity, amazing intricacy, the fractals and chaos, the geometric patterns that underlie all of nature, but am unable to put into words the beauty that I see, and how it makes me feel, but hope that in my photography I am able capture and show even a small part of this.
When I photograph animals, I love to capture the actions and behaviours of the wildlife in its natural environment, and show the detail that is very difficult to see with the naked eye. I want to show nature and wildlife at all stages, from birth through life to death and in all seasons and weathers.
I also want to show the detrimental effect of humankind on our environment. I hate the fact that everywhere I now go to photograph, even in the wildest places, there is evidence of humans, in the rubbish that some of them leave behind.
